AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A strange meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine group.
The adventure concentrates on "peculiar trials and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a striking moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Extra Material
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an special katana alongside several items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Update
This release also adds the game's third complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime properties. The series previously featured a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
